WWE Vengeance 2011 was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE that took place on October 23, 2011 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. It is the 12th event under the Vengeance/Night of Champions chronology and the first event under the Vengeance name since the 2007 edition. There were eight matches that were scheduled on the card.
The main rivalry from Raw involved WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio against former champion John Cena for the WWE Championship. At Hell in a Cell earlier (WWE Pay Per View Hell in A Cell 2011) in the month, John Cena lost his title to Del Rio after Cena was locked out of the steel cell while Del Rio pinned CM Punk. A week later, recently instated Interim General Manager John Laurinaitis booked John Cena's rematch against Del Rio for Vengeance. On 17th October episode of Raw, Cena won the tag team match with Jim Ross to defeat Alberto and Cole and as per stipulation of the match he chose last man standing match at the event. Laurinaitis also requested a tag team match between former rivals Triple H and CM Punk and the newly reinstated R-Truth and The Miz for Vengeance, which was confirmed on Twitter the following day.
The main rivalry from Smackdown involved World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry against Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship. At Money in the Bank, Mark Henry injured The Big Show via steel chair crushed on his fibula keeping him out of action for roughly four months. Afterwards, Henry defeated Randy Orton at Night of Champions 2011 to claim the first World Heavyweight Championship in his career, and defeated Orton once more at Hell in a Cell to retain his title. The Smackdown after Hell in a Cell, Big Show returned and began to attack Mark Henry demanding a title match for Henry's title. Before crushing his leg with a steel chair, General Manager Theodore Long gave Big Show his title shot against Henry, but not if he went through with crushing Henry's leg. With that said, Show decided to give Henry a chair shot to the back, fearing not getting a World Heavyweight Championship match against the champion.
As I already watched WWE Vengeance 2011 on the Internet. The WWE Vengeance 2011 happened with eight following matches as below:
1. The first beginning match, Air Boom (Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston) vs. Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler, Tag Team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship...
2. The second match, Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder, match for the WWE United States Championship...
3. The third match, Beth Phoenix vs. Eve Torres, match for the WWE Divas Championship...
4. The fourth match, Christian vs. Sheamus...
5. The fifth match, Triple H and CM Punk vs. The Miz and R-Truth, tag Team match...
6. The sixth, Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes...
7. The seventh, Mark Henry vs. The Big Show for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship...It's the very very impressive match ever, at the end of the match, the two giants made the ring fell down...WOW!!!
8. The eight and also the last match, Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena, Last Man Standing match for the WWE Championship...After the ring had fallen down, the WWE Championship between John Cena and Alberto Del Rio was still continued...
Who the winners, who the new champions and who retained the championship???
